We are in recovery mode here. There was so much food... and Suzy brought goodies... and there was fudge. (oh my god I forgot how rich that is,) So Merry Christmas, and see you all in the new year.

I talked to my mother yesterday morning. Called her because for me to go any further with my search back in the family could cause her some upset. Or so I thought. Mom is the most understanding and grounded person I know. She told me not to be too upset by things, and not to allow it to give me headaches... She said we have to understand the past, but not live in it, we need to live for the future. And then she said, "We have good times. We always have had."
Wow... And she's right. Even when times and curcumstances have been hard, we've had good times. Thanks mom! Like so many here in the midwest, I have mixed heritatge. I'm Celtic, (Irish and Scottish) German, Polish, Bohimeian, and it appears there may be some Russian in there as well.
I was raised in a house that remembered the old ways, as well as the Christ. And we celebrated the winter season with love and laughter and good foods. I rasied my own brood to honor the past, live in the present and work for the future. To celebrate the season with joy and good will. This is my wish for all of you. May the ONE bless you, this day and everyday! Dec. 5, 2016, Krumpus day! I was raised with the heritage of Celts and Germans, Poles and Russians. My grandmother would tell us if we were bad Krumpus would come get us... but if we were good, on the 6th St. Nick would give us gingerbread treats. Well... I'm still here, so I must have been good.
And if you know what's good for you, you'll support your starving artists and authors... because Krumpus is still out there! |
