Yesterday was Mother's day. And the tradition is Suzy and Matt take his mother and I to breakfast. We have a lovely time... In years past Brian was included, and he drove. Yesterday it was just moms and Matt and Suzy. I drove myself out to Orland Park. Which is fine, I left with lots of time, meandered in the Forest Preserves, and when a whole family of coyotes crossed the road, I rolled down my window and howled. The she coyote turned, looked at me, and then howled back. One mother greeting another... you gotta love this world.
Don't be surprised when something howls back!
